Armie Hammer denies Green Lantern Corps casting rumour

January 23, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Quite a few big names are being tossed around for the role of Hal Jordan in Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern Corps, with a rumoured shortlist surfacing last week which included Armie Hammer, Tom Cruise, Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Joel McHale, James Marsden and even Ryan Reynolds.

However, at the Sundance Film Festival, The Wrap spoke to Armie Hammer, who bluntly denied any talks by saying “I saw the reporting too. That’s the first I’ve heard of it”.

Keep in mind, it is always possible that he is intentionally denying the rumors to keep up the potential casting as a surprise to the fans. It certainly wouldn’t be an uncommon gesture in this situation.

Green Lantern Corps is slated for release in 2020, with David S. Goyer writing and producing. However, there have been rumours that a member of Corps will feature in Justice League, which opens in November.
