Here’s some exciting news for fans of Batman: The Animated Series, as voice actors Kevin Conroy (Batman) and John Glover (The Riddler) have revealed that they are working on a new audio drama continuation of the iconic show.
Speaking at Los Angeles Comic Con this past weekend (via THR), Conroy revealed that the project has “a great script” by Batman: TAS writer and producer Alan Burnett, a theme by Danny Elfman and that “it brings back the original cast”, with Glover adding: “The Riddler’s back, and he’s evolved in many ways… He understands he’s on the spectrum.”
Batman: The Animated Series premiered in 1992, launching what became known as the DC Animated Universe, and earning praise from audiences and critics alike. It won four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated series of all time.
The Batman: The Animated Series project joins a growing list of Bat-related audio dramas, which includes HBO Max’s Batman: The Audio Adventures featuring Jeffrey Wright and the upcoming Spotify scripted podcast Batman Unburied featuring Winston Duke.

Along with the audio drama continuation, Batman: TAS co-creator Bruce Timm also has a new animated project in the works entitled Batman: Caped Crusader, which he recently described as being “more Batman: The Animated Series than Batman: The Animated Series.”
