UPDATE: Batman v Superman to be split into two parts, with Enter the Knight leading into Dawn of Justice?

January 9, 2015 by Gary Collinson

If you were wondering how Warner Bros. and DC plan to cram so many characters into the upcoming DC ensemble Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, well we may just have the answer – although the emphasis is on may here…

According to an image doing the rounds on the internet which is allegedly from the teaser trailer, the studio will split the movie into two parts, with Batman v Superman Part I: Enter the Knight arriving on October 23rd of this year, followed by Batman v Superman Part II: Dawn of Justice on March 25th 2016:

So, could this be genuine? Who knows, but if Warner Bros. was planning on splitting the movie in two then it seems strange that it wouldn’t have been mentioned during the big DC reveal. Unless of course the decision was yet to be made.

UPDATE: According to Variety reporter Ramin Setoodeh, Henry Cavill has denied the rumour that the movie will be split into two parts, so that would seem to settle it…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sees Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) and Scoot McNairy (Argo) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
