Battle Action Force to be collected in new Treasury Editions

April 21, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Get ready to relive the war between elite counter-terrorist unit Action Force (the pre-G.I. Joe-infused version) and the ruthless Red Shadows, as Total Toy Books, Rebellion Publishing and Skeletron have announced that they are set to collect the classic Battle Action Force comic in a series of deluxe over-sized Treasury Editions.

Action Force consists of four elite teams: infantry specialists Z Force, ocean based Q Force, infiltration specialists the SAS and orbital guardians Space Force protected the world against the evil machinations of Baron Ironblood, The Black Major and their army of brainwashed Red Shadows.

Originally launched as a strip in the UK’s Battle comic in October 1983 before taking centre stage in the retitled Battle Action Force due to its popularity, the comic was based Palitoy’s Action Force toyline and ran until 1986, at which point the brand had been merged with – and ultimately entirely phased out in favour of – the U.S.’ G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line after Hasbro had taken control of Palitoy’s operations.

At the moment, further details are being kept under wraps, but hopefully we’ll have word on an expected release date soon.
