Bill & Ted Face The Music casts Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine

June 5, 2019 by Ricky Church

As preparation continues for the much-anticipated Bill & Ted Face The Music, The Hollywood Reporter has announced the film has cast Samara Weaving (The Babysitter) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical) as the children of the Wild Stallyns themselves, Bill and Ted.

Lundy-Paine will portray Billie Logan, the daughter of Keanu Reeves’ Ted, while Weaving will be Thea Preston, the daughter of Alex Winter’s Bill.

“When we saw Samara and Brigette together, it was like deja vu,” producer Scott Kroopf told THR. “It was exactly the way we felt when we first saw Keanu and Alex. We are so thrilled to have this funny and unique pair join the Bill and Ted team!”

The film will see Winter and Reeves reprise their iconic roles as Bill and Ted respectively. Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was released in 1989 and became a surprise hit which spawned a sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, in 1991 and even a cartoon series that lasted two seasons, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures. Reeves and Winter won’t be the only ones returning as they announced William Sadler will reprise his Bogus Journey role as Death.

Following 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the stakes are higher than ever for William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Keanu Reeves). Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is being directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) from a script by original Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. It is set for release on August 21st 2020.
