Callum Turner to play Newt Scamander’s brother in Fantastic Beasts 2

April 23, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that British actor Callum Turner (Green Room) has been cast as the brother of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander in Warner Bros.’ sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He becomes the second new addition to the cast after Jude Law, who is taking on the role of the legendary wizard Albus Dumbledore.

The as-yet-untitled Fantastic Beasts 2 will reunite director David Yates, screenwriter J.K. Rowling and producers David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that it will take place in 1928 in Paris, and “is set in an increasingly dark time for the Wizarding World where Newt Scamander and company have to decide on their allegiances.”

Fantastic Beasts 2 is slated for release on November 16th 2018, and will see the return of Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) and Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone), as well as Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander.
