David Gordon Green to direct movie about Walt Disney building The Magic Kingdom

October 12, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Having spent the last few years giving people nightmares filming his Halloween reboot trilogy, director David Gordon Green is turning his attention to a different kind of dream by signing on to make a film about Walt Disney’s attempts to build Disneyland.

According to Deadline, the Halloween Kills filmmaker will move from the bloody streets of Haddonfield to the confetti and candyfloss filled paths of The Magic Kingdom for Disney+.

The Untitled movie will be written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who has a track record when it comes to the mouse house, having written on the likes of The Jungle Book 2, Tinker Bell and the billion dollar grossing Beauty and the Beast remake.

Disneyland Park, as it is now known, is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It opened on July 17, 1955 and is the only theme park designed and built to completion under the direct supervision of Walt Disney.

David Gordon Green is a director known for his ability to work in any given genre, so what do you make of his latest choice? Let us know by heading over to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
