Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode returns with a special Resident Evil collaboration

February 6, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Behaviour Interactive has announced that Dead by Daylight’s popular 2v8 game mode will be available from 10th to the 25th February and feature a special collaboration with the hugely popular Resident Evil.  Besides well-known and feared characters like Nemesis, this collaboration will bring the Raccoon City Police Department into the arena rotation, a fitting place for such an event.  Watch the little teaser trailer below….

The return of the popular 2v8 game mode introduces The Nemesis and The Mastermind (Wesker) and these will join the Killer roster alongside the game’s original evil chap, The Legion.  There’s also a chance that both Nemesis and The Mastermind can be chosen as Killers. To ensure a great experience for all, every Resident Evil character will be free to play exclusively in 2v8 Mode for the duration of the event.  On the Survivor side, players will be able to choose from Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers.

A few special gameplay elements have been added to this latest round of 2v8 to help fit in with the theme of Resident Evil.  As all Resident Evil fans know, Herbs are essential in ensuring their character’s good health and in this mode there is no difference.  At the start of a 2v8 Trial, Green and Yellow Herbs will spawn around the Map, allowing players to heal 1 Survivor Health State with the Green Herbs and 1 Hook State with the Yellow Herbs.  It will also be possible for Killers to permanently destroy the Herbs.

Both Nemesis and The Mastermind’s Powers in Dead by Daylight include the ability to infect and weaken Survivors, whether that be by the T-Virus or by Oroboros. Should any Survivor get infected by either of these killers, an antidote capable of curing both infections is the default item in Supply Crates. Finally, to reduce Killer queue time, 2v8 mode will add two Survivor Bots to every lobby.

Be sure to log into Dead by Daylight between 10th and 25th February and take part in this killer event.
