Dexter revival brings back John Lithgow’s Trinity Killer

June 28, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Dexter might have badly fumbled its 2013 farewell, but it seems that Showtime’s revival series is attempting to pull out all the stops to win back fans of Michael C. Hall’s anti-hero with the announcement that John Lithgow is set to return as season four’s Trinity Killer.

Deadline report that Lithgow will make a “short but decisive” return to the world of Dexter Morgan in the guise of The Trinity Killer. Lithgow won an Emmy-Award for his portrayal of Dexter’s duplicitous rival, and was responsible for one of the show’s most jaw-dropping twists, but his ultimate fate will leave fans wondering how he is going to play a part in the revival.

As well as Lithgow, the revival series will star Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan with Clancy Brown as the primary villain Kurt Caldwell, the “unofficial mayor” of Iron Lake, as well as Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country) as Molly, a famous true-crime podcaster, Oscar Wahlberg (Manchester By the Sea) as Zach, the captain of the Iron Lake High School wrestling team, Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird), and Michael Cyril Creighton (Spotlight).
