Domhnall Gleeson to play Mr. McGregor in Peter Rabbit movie

October 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has signed on to Sony’s live-action/CG hybrid Peter Rabbit movie, where he is set to play the menacing farmer Mr. McGregor.

Will Gluck (Easy A) is directing the film, which will see James Corden (Into the Woods) as the voice of Peter alongside Rose Byrne (X-Men: Apocalypse), Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), and Gleeson’s Star Wars co-star Daisy Ridley.

Gleeson has a host of projects on his upcoming slate, including the Tom Cruise crime drama American Made, National Lampoon drama A Futile and Stupid Gesture, A.A. Milne biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin, Darren Aronofsky’s as-yet-untitled next project, and of course Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Production on Peter Rabbit is due to commence in January 2017, with the film set for worldwide release in April 2018.
