Dune returning to theaters with special preview of Dune: Part Two

February 3, 2024 by Ricky Church

As we get closer to the release of Dune: Part Two at the end of the month, Warner Bros. has announced Dune will be returning to theaters for a one week engagement with a special preview of the anticipated sequel.

Dune is based on Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel which spawned a sprawling franchise that is still ongoing by Herbert’s son Brian Herbert. The first film was directed by Denis Villeneuve with Timothée Chalamet starring as Paul Atreides. It was released in 2021 and became a blockbuster hit which garnered several nominations at award ceremonies.

Dune will return to theatres on February 9th for the week and will include a special preview of Dune: Part Two, which will be released in a special fan event on February 25th before its wide release on March 1st. The sequel adapts the second-half of the Dune novel which sees Paul growing in power as he attempts to avenge the loss of his father and family house.

Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Featuring in the cast of Dune: Part Two are Timothée Chalamet (Wonka), Zendaya (Euphoria), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning), Josh Brolin (Milk), Austin Butler (Elvis), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter), Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences), Léa Seydoux (Crimes of the Future), Stellan Skarsgård (Mamma Mia), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years), and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men).

Dune: Part Two will be released on March 1st, 2024.
