Edge of Tomorrow sequel Live Die Repeat and Repeat officially moving ahead

March 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

It looks like the stars are finally aligning for the Edge of Tomorrow sequel, with Deadline reporting that Warner Bros. is looking to move forward on the long-rumoured Live Die Repeat and Repeat.

According to the trade, screenwriter Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) has been brought in the work on the script for the follow-up to the acclaimed 2014 sci-fi with the intention of reuniting director Doug Liman with stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

Live Die Repeat and Repeat has been in the works for several years now and came close to going into production in 2017, only to stall due to Blunt’s commitments to Mary Poppins Returns.

Although a scriptwriter is on board, it’s not yet clear what sort of timeframe we could expect for Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Although Blunt only has the recently announced A Quiet Place sequel on her slate at present, Cruise is set to jump into back-to-back productions on Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 once he wraps Top Gun: Maverick.

Are you excited about the prospect of Live Die Repeat and Repeat? Can you see it undergoing numerous title changes before it makes it to the screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
