Edward James Olmos and Ryan Guzman to star in 9/11 drama Windows on the World

July 7, 2017 by Ricky Church

Edward James Olmos and Ryan Guzman are set to star as a father and son in the 9/11 drama Windows on the World, according to Variety. The film will be directed by Olmos’ own son, Michael D. Olmos, from a script by Robert Mailer Anderson and Zack Anderson.

The film will see Guzman star as a man in Mexico who watches the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and travels to New York in search of his father, played by Olmos, who was working in the top levels of the North Tower at the time of the attacks. The Windows on the World was a restaurant that was located there as well.

Guzman is known for the Step-Up franchise and recently starred in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!!. Olmos is known for the television reboot Battlestar Galactica and Blade Runner, the latter a role he will reprise in Blade Runner 2049. He was also set to star in Mayans MC, the Sons of Anarchy spin-off, but the pilot is now undergoing extensive reworking with key roles recast so it is unknown if Olmos will remain part of the show.
