Ellen Barkin joins Rian Johnson’s Peacock mystery series Poker Face

June 22, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Known for her fierce and larger-than-life personality, Ellen Barkin will perfectly match Rian Johnson’s slick stylings. Deadline reports that Barkin will soon star in the director’s upcoming Peacock series Poker Face.

Barkin will join an all-star cast led by Natasha Lyonne, which also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Lil Rel Howery, Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Benjamin Bratt, David Castañeda. Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, Nicholas Cirillo, Audrey Corsa, and Niall Cunningham

Much like Rian Johnson’s other projects, details about Poker Face are scarce, but we know it is labelled as a mystery drama, which “will follow a procedural format and see Lyonne’s character working to solve different murders in each episode.”

Johnson’s Poker Face has a 10-episode order from Peacock and is expected to premiere before the end of the year. Johnson is also awaiting the release of his next film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which is coming to Netflix later this year.
