Emily Blunt rumored for Steven Spielberg’s new UFO event movie

June 16, 2024 by EJ Moreno

When a new event film from Steven Spielberg comes around, everyone wants a chance at it. The legendary director has worked with some of the industry’s most significant and best actors, and his rumored next lead will make for a dynamic pairing.

Deadline reports that Emily Blunt will star in the described “two-hander.” Her potential co-star has yet to be revealed. This project would mark the first time Spielberg and Blunt have teamed up.

Little is known about the project, but it’s described as a “new original event film” and will reportedly center around UFOs. Spielberg will direct a script from David Koepp based on his own idea. Koepp has written massive blockbusters, including Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, two Indiana Jones movies, 2002’s Spider-Man, and the upcoming Jurassic World 4.

Blunt is fresh off her Oscar nomination for her work in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. She’s starred in blockbusters and fan favorites, including A Quiet Place, The Devil Wears Prada, and this year’s The Fall Guy.

Stay tuned for any details concerning Emily Blunt’s co-star and the title of Steven Spielberg’s mysterious new film.
