Evangeline Lilly wants to see Marvel’s women team up for an A-Force movie

January 4, 2023 by Gary Collinson

As she prepares to make her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, kicking off Phase Five alongside Paul Rudd in February’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, actress Evangeline Lilly has been reflecting on her time in the MCU, and where she’d like to see her character Hope Van Dyne go next – assuming of course The Wasp survives her upcoming encounter with Kang the Conqueror.

Speaking to CinePop, Lilly called Avengers: Endgame’s divisive scene where Marvel’s female heroes assemble during the climactic battle with Thanos as one of her favourite experiences from her time in the franchise, and something she’d love to revisit with an all-female A-Force movie.

“Yes! I would like to be in it,” said Lilly when asked about A-Force. “I would like to make it happen! That day that we did the scene in Endgame, where it was just us women, was the most special day I’ve ever had. It was maybe tied for the most special day I’ve ever had filming a Marvel movie. There was that one and then there was my 42nd birthday where I was doing a scene with Michelle Pfeffer, Michael Douglas, and Bill Murray. They were both amazing.”

Lilly certainly isn’t the first of the MCU’s female stars to express their interest in an A-Force team-up, although given the reaction to the Endgame scene it’s probably not too high on Marvel’s agenda. Still, let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth if it’s something you’d be keen to see…

In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Corey Stoll (Darren Cross/Yellowjacket), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror), Bill Murray (Krylar), and William Jackson Harper.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set for release on February 17th, 2023.
