Filming on Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is underway

July 3, 2015 by admin

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone seeing as though the film is out next year, but reports are coming in that second unit production has already begun for Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. These reports have come from the Bothan spies from Making Star Wars and Star Wars Aficionado and even suggest that Felicity Jones has already shot her first scene.

The production has begun at Pinewood Studios in London (where they filmed Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and several trees have been brought into the set to film a jungle landing and bombardment sequence. The reports also say that several of the Star Destroyer sets and models have been brought over from The Force Awakens to be re-used on Rogue One. One report also claims that some sets from The Force Awakens are being re-dressed to act as the Death Star.

“A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans in Star Wars anthology film Rogue One.”

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is set for release on December 16th, 2016, with a cast that so far includes Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler), Diego Luna (Elysium), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises) and Forest Whitaker (Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai).
