Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley adds David Strathairn

September 30, 2019 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck, The Expanse) has become the latest addition to the cast of Nightmare Alley, the next film from Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro.

The noir-thriller is an adaptation of William Lindsay’s 1946 novel, and follows a corrupt con-man who teams female psychiatrist to swindle people with a mentalist ac as part of a travelling carnival.

Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born) and Cate Blanchett (Where’d You Go, Bernadette) are set to lead the cast of Nightmare Alley alongside Rooney Mara (Mary Magdalene) and Toni Collette (Hereditary).

Filming on Nightmare Alley is set to get underway early in the New Year in Toronto, with del Toro directing from a script he’s co-written with Kim Morgan (The Forbidden Room).
