Isabelle Fuhrman returning for another round as killer Esther in Orphan: First Kill

November 3, 2020 by EJ Moreno

If you remember 2009’s Orphan, you can see the reason for excitement at this news. As reported by Deadline, Isabelle Fuhrman is returning to the franchise as Esther in a planned prequel film.

In the upcoming film Orphan: First Kill, directed by William Brent Bell (The Boy) and written by David Coggeshall, Leena Klammer “orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as ‘Esther’ comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.”

Fuhrman played Esther’s iconic role to perfection in the first film, pulling off a dramatic reveal that left every viewer shook. Now, the filmmakers look to bring her character to life again using unique filmmaking tricks. Deadline notes the director William Brent Bell will utilize a combination of forced perspective shooting and a world-class makeup team to achieve this task. Fuhrman is now 23-years-old and will have to play both the older and a now-younger version of Esther.

Julia Stiles is also joining Orphan: First Kill, playing an undisclosed role.
