James Gunn offers a few Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tidbits

September 10, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has taken time out of his busy schedule to answer some fan questions for the 2017 sequel, offering up a few minor tidbits about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Among the details revealed in the Q&A, Gunn reiterated that there is “zero chance” that The Hulk will make an appearance in the film, and that Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill will be the only human character, which also rules out a Captain Marvel cameo. However, we may be getting a new female member of the Guardians, with Gunn stating that: “As I’ve said many times it’s one of my goals to get a higher % of female heroes (and villains) out there. So MAYBE.”

In terms of the soundtrack, Gunn also revealed that he has 12 songs in mind for the Vol. 2 mixtape, which Marvel is currently looking to secure the rights for, while composer Tyler Bates is busy writing music for the score, which will actually be played on set during production.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will begin filming in February ahead of a release on April 28th 2017 in the UK and on May 5th in the States. Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebulda), Michael Rooker (Yondu) and Sean Gunn (Kraglin) are all confirmed as returning to the cast.
