James Marsden stirs up rumors of Cyclops cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine

March 14, 2024 by EJ Moreno

If you’re unaware, Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be every non-MCU Marvel film with cameos and a storyline entrenched in 20th Century Fox characters.

One of the rumored cameos is James Marsden, who played Cyclops in the X-Men films. During a recent interview, the actor added fuel to the fire.

While speaking to The Playlist’s The Discourse podcast, Marsden talks about filming the third Sonic near the third Deadpool.

“We just wrapped [Sonic the Hedgehog 3], actually. We were actually near the…Deadpool [production] stages up there in Pinewood… Yeah, this is a little… umm…bit of a Pandora’s box,” said the actor.

With those words leaving his lips, the outlet said that Marsden’s face was filled with regret. He quickly pivoted, “Look, franchises—I even hate that word franchises—so I feel very proud of what we’ve created and the response from the fans and everything.”

Even with his attempt at playing coy, the actor says he’s hounded about a possible Deadpool and Wolverine cameo, adding: “Yeah, I keep hearing about it; I can’t walk down the street without someone asking me, so evidently, there’s a lot of chatter about that.”
