Jamie Dornan is on the run once again in first look at The Tourist series 2

August 16, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

The first season of The Tourist was the highest rated drama on UK television in 2022, drawing an audience of 11.4 million viewers, so it comes as little surprise to see that Jamie Dornan is once again being put through the wringer in these first look photographs released by the BBC Press Office.

The six part second series, which is written and created by Jack and Harry Williams, relocates the action from the Australian outback to the Irish countryside, bringing with it Danielle Macdonald (also pictured) as returning police officer Helen Chambers.

The Fall‘s Jamie Dornan resumes his role as Elliot Stanley, a man looking to rediscover his true identity following his memory loss. The series’ synopsis reveals that “Elliot and Helen are dragged into a longstanding family feud as they attempt to uncover the secrets of Elliot’s past.”

Series two will introduce a set of brand new characters including Detective Ruairi Slater (Conor MacNeill – Industry), Niamh Cassidy (Olwen Fouéré – The Northman) and the McDonnell family – Donal (Diarmaid Murtagh – Vikings), Orla (Nessa Matthews – Fair City), Fergal (Mark McKenna – Sing Street), and Frank (Francis Magee – Then You Run).

Produced by the BBC in association with Stan, ZDF and All3Media International. The Tourist series 2 is set to debut in late 2023, early 2024.
