Jamie Foxx taking inspiration from P Diddy for his Annie character

October 29, 2013 by admin

The upcoming remake of Annie has commenced filming and although very little information has been forthcoming, star Jamie Foxx (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Django Unchained) has revealed his main inspiration for his role as Benjamin Stacks, a mobile phone module running for New York mayor.

“To be honest with you, I’m letting the cat out the bag just a little bit,” states Foxx. “I’m sort of mirroring Puffy a little bit.” Now, I’m unsure whether a remake of Annie is entirely necessary but if Foxx is to mirror P Diddy, maybe it will be a little bit of fun.

Annie, a remake of the 1982 musical, will see Foxx joined by Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day, The Counselor), Rose Byrne (Insidious, X-Men: First Class), Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire, Blue Jasmine), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Thor: The Dark World) and Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) as Annie. The film is being directed by Will Gluck (Easy A) and will open on December 19th, 2014.
