Jennifer Garner joins Party Down revival series

January 31, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

For the few of us who watched Starz’s 2009 short-lived sitcom Party Down, the news of a revival was something to get really excited about, especially with the announcement that most of the original cast would be returning. Now things have got even better for the silver-service crew because Jennifer Garner has been added to the show’s six-episode run.

Garner, who has proven comedy credentials thanks to likes of 13 Going on 30, Arthur and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past will join the revival alongside new cast members Zoë Chao (Love Life), and Tyrel Jackson Williams (Thunder Force) and potentially James Marsden (Sonic the Hedgehog).

The original cast of Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Megan Mullally have signed on to reprise their roles as Henry, Constance, Ron, Roman, Kyle, and Lydia. The only prominent member of the catering team who won’t be returning is Lizzy Caplan, who played Casey.

Running on Starz for two seasons between 2009-2010, Party Down followed an LA catering team comprised of a sextet of Hollywood wannabes stuck working for tips while hoping for their big break. Each episode of the half-hour comedy features the hapless catering team working a new event and inevitably getting tangled up with the guests and their absurd lives.
