Julianne Moore is a 17th century schemer in Mary & George trailer

Sky Television and Starz, the series’ new U.S. home, has just released a trailer for the Julianne Moore-headlined series Mary & George, which stars the Academy Award winning actress as Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, who in 17th century England molded her beautiful son, George, to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover.

Created by D.C. Moore (Killing Eve), the seven-part series also stars Nicholas Galitzine as George, alongside Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar, Trine Dyrholm, Sean Gilder, Adrian Rawlins, Mark O’Halloran, Laurie Davidson, Samuel Blenkin, Jacob McCarthy, Tom Victor, Alice Grant, Amelia Gething, Mirren Mack, Rina Mahoney and Simon Russell Beale. Based on a scandalous true story, Mary & George is an audacious historical psychodrama starring Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore (Still Alice) and Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue), about a treacherous mother and son who schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the Court of England and the bed of King James I.

Mary & George is coming to Starz in the U.S. and Sky Television in the U.K. sometime in 2024.
