Juno Temple and Janelle Monae join Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams

Juno Temple and Janelle Monae have joined the ever expanding cast of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.

The upcoming anthology series that will adapt a different short story per episode from the legendary writer already has some big names attached to star, and now we have learnt that Temple and Monae will be joining the ranks.

The two stars will play lead roles in an episode entitled Autofac, directed by Peter Horton and written by Travis Beachman. The synopsis for the instalment reads:

Despite society and the world as we know it having collapsed, a massive, automatic product-manufacturing factory continues to operate according to the principles of consumerism – humans consume products to be happy, and in order to consume continuously, they must be denied freedom of choice and free will. When a small band of rebels decide to shut down the factory, they discover they may actually be the perfect consumers after all.

Temple and Monae will play Emily (a rebel) and Alexis (a representative of Autofac) respectively.

Electric Dreams is being produced by Ronald D. Moore, Michael Dinner, Bryan Cranston and Sony Pictures TV.

Cranston is also set to appear in the series along with Steve Buscemi, Greg Kinnear, Mireille Enos, Anna Paquin, Terrence Howard, Timothy Spall, Richard Madden, Holiday Grainger, Jack Reynor, Benedict Wong, and Geraldine Chaplin.

The series will air on Amazon Prime in the U.S and Channel 4 in the U.K later this year.
