Lawrence Kasdan says the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff will shoot in January

May 31, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this month Disney and Lucasfilm announced that they’ve found their young Han Solo in Alden Ehrenreich, and now screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has revealed that production on the Star Wars Anthology movie will kick off in January.

“You know, Chris Miller and Phil Lord are going to direct it,” said Kasdan (via Star Wars News Net). “They’re great, funny and imaginative and we’ve had a great time together. My son [Jon] and I wrote the script and Chris and Phil are working on it and they’re about to move to London to start shooting in January. And it should be fun.”

The Han Solo movie is slated for release on May 25th 2018, and of course before then we have both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode VIII to look forward to, with the films arriving on December 16th 2016 and December 15th 2017 respectively.
