Liam Neeson open to the idea of Taken 4

January 13, 2015 by admin

Despite being maligned by the critics (including our own ★★ review), Taken 3 has endured all obstacles to win the second-biggest January opening of all-time. Having taken $39 million domestically, the movie sits at just under $92 million worldwide – prompting new talk of a fourth entry.

In an interview with Fox, Bryan Mills himself Liam Neeson talked about the chance of Taken 4 saying, “there’s always… I think if audiences go and see it and they like these characters, I mean, I’d love to do something with Forest [Whitaker] again, and if it’s in a Taken 4 scenario… great.”

Prior to the release of the third movie, Neeson was against the idea of continuing the franchise, believing there were no more stories to tell. But, a big cheque can change anyone’s mind. And even though the tagline for Taken 3 is “It Ends Here”, money often talks more than sense – so there is always the chance of Taken 4.

Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.

Taken 3 is out now, with Neeson joined by returning stars Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace and Leland Orser in addition to Forest Whitaker (The Butler), Dougray Scott (Hemlock Grove) and Sam Spruell (Snow White and the Huntsman).
