Deadline is reporting that a live-action feature film adaptation of the cult video game Lollipop Chainsaw is in development as a collaboration between publisher Dragami Games and production companies Orange Chariot, Ambitious Entertainment, Nada Holdings and Non Stop TV.
Described as a prequel to the original 2012 video game, the film will follow Juliet Starling, “a San Romero High School cheerleader born into a legendary family of zombie hunters. When a catastrophic zombie outbreak engulfs her school, Juliet must fight her way through the undead to save her friends, protect her family, and somehow keep her boyfriend Nick close – even if doing so ultimately requires some highly unconventional arrangements.”

The original Lollipop Chainsaw was a collaboration between game designer Goichi Suda and filmmaker James Gunn and was released on the Xbox 306 and PlayStation 3 back in 2012. A remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, was released in 2024.
