Madness prevails in The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu trailer

November 22, 2025 by Andrew Newton

At the recent Xbox Partner Preview online conference, publisher NACON and ACE Team revealed the first gameplay trailer for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. This new trailer (see below) provides a look at the game world and some of the nasties that players will be fighting in this upcoming first-person horror…

Inspired by H. P. Lovecraft’s The Mound, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will take players to the 16th century, where they will be challenged to form a squad of 2-4 members and search for a legendary underground city filled with priceless treasures. Each expedition that players make will begin on their galleon, and it is here that they will select their next mission, choose their weapons and equipment and set out to discover the mysterious city or the treasures hidden on an unassuming island in the New World.

Once players get to shore, they will need to work together to find the treasure, survive the jungle and its many creatures, and make it back to the galleon alive. The island is home to many strange and dangerous creatures that defy logic and nature. Not only are they a threat to players’ lives, but they are also a threat to their sanity to the point they will make them doubt everything.

One wrong decision, a misplaced shot or a delay in reacting to a situation can spell disaster for the mission, and to survive, players need to rely on each other using mutual aid and communication via proximity voice chat.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC in summer 2026.
