Mads Mikkelsen open to playing Victor Von Doom in the Doctor Doom movie

August 4, 2017 by Gary Collinson

During the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Legion creator Noah Hawley is developing a Fantastic Four spinoff movie based around the iconic Marvel villain Doctor Doom, and now actor Mads Mikkelsen has revealed that – despite a rather negative experience with a past Fantastic Four audition – he would be open to taking on the role of Victor Von Doom.

“Yeah, it’s always interesting,” Mikkelsen told Screen Geek when asked about his interest in the role. “They are experimenting with doing some of the villain’s stories as well. Let’s see if they do that. I’m not familiar that they’ve done it with anyone yet. They haven’t done it with The Joker [and] they haven’t done it with The Penguin. So we’ll see when that day comes.”

The actor also clarified his previous comments about his earlier Fantastic Four audition – and it sounds like he was actually testing for the role of Mister Fantastic: “I didn’t walk out. When I left it, I was just like – this is crazy. I don’t even have long arms. What am I doing in here? The audition was only about long arms. No lines. I felt a little funny.”

Would you like to see Mads Mikkelsen as Doctor Doom? If not, who would be your pick for the role? Let us know in the comments below…
