Maika Monroe cast in Neil Jordan thriller The Widow

August 2, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Maika Monroe (It Follows) has signed on to join Isabelle Huppert (Elle) and Chloe Grace Moretz (Bad Neighbours 2) in the cast of The Widow, the new thriller from director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game).

Written by Ray Wright (The Crazies), The Widow sees Moretz as Frances, a young woman who returns an elderly widow’s lost purse, leading to an unlikely relationship between the two — until the young woman discovers her elder might not be all that she seems and that she’s downright dangerous.

Monroe – who is currently gearing up to shoot the thriller Stockholm for writer-director Matt Spicer – is set to portray Erica, Frances’ protective best friend who is living large on her father’s dime and helps her college pal acclimate to the city.
