Marvel & Disney preview What If…? Donald Duck Became The Mighty Thor with first-look sneak peek

August 3, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from assuming the mantle of Wolverine this week, Disney icon Donald Duck is set to prove himself worthy in the next Disney and Marvel mash-up this September, and a first look preview of the upcoming one-shot What If…? Donald Duck Became The Mighty Thor #1 has been released online.

Written by Steve Behling and Riccardo Secchi with art from Lorenzo Pastrovicchio, the comic is inspired by Thor’s legendary first Marvel Comics appearance in Journey Into Mystery #83 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber.

“When we saw the designs for the Stone Ducks of Saturn and The Destroyer we literally laughed out loud,” Editor Mark Paniccia shared. “I can honestly say I never thought I’d see something like this in my career. I gotta pinch myself to make sure it’s not a dream.”

Check out the various covers and first look preview of What If…? Donald Duck Became The Mighty Thor #1 here…
