Marvel is killing off Kamala Khan with The Death of Ms. Marvel

May 18, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Comics has announced that Kamala Khan is set to make the ultimate sacrifice in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #26 as the young superheroine is set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Captain America, Wolverine, Doctor Strange and the original Captain Marvel with The Death of Ms. Marvel.

To mark the monumental moment, Marvel will continue the storyline this July as an all-star line-up of creators including Ms. Marvel co-creator G. Willow Wilson and writers Saladin Ahmed and Mark Waid assemble to pay their respects with the one-shot comic Fallen Friend: The Death of M. Marvel, which promises to erve as both a farewell for Ms. Marvel and a glimpse of her death’s impact on all of Marvel’s heroes.

Making her first appearance in the pages of Captain Marvel #14 in 2013, Kamala Khan quickly became a firm fan favourite among Marvel Comics fans. She made her live-action debut in last year’s Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, portrayed by Iman Vellani, who will link up with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau in November’s Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels. Whether comic book Kamala will be back from the dead by that point, we’ll see…

Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel will go on sale on July 12th.
