As filming continues on Mission: Impossible 6, Deadline is reporting that Oscar nominee Angela Bassett has signed on to portray the new Director of the CIA.
Bassett has recently wrapped her work on Marvel’s Black Panther, and will follow up her Impossible Mission exploits with the new series 911, which she is also executive producing with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

Mission: Impossible 6 will see Tom Cruise joined by returning stars Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris, along with new additions Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Sian Brooke (Sherlock), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) and Vanessa Kirby (The Crown). It is set for release on July 27th 2018.
