Netflix developing third Enola Holmes outing for Millie Bobby Brown

November 8, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Netflix are putting together a third case for Enola Holmes to solve with the news that they’re working on another sequel for Millie Bobby Brown’s junior sleuth.

During a conversation with Collider, Head of Netflix Film, Scott Stuber told them that they were currently working on a screenplay for their “homegrown star”.

Stuber said “You know, she’s such a great homegrown star for us. I mean, obviously, Stranger Things is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress. We have a film called Damsel with her in the spring, which I’m really excited about, [from] Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Then, getting that character right. The Holmes IP is weirdly elastic. Obviously, Warner Bros. did an incredible job with Downey and Jude Law, so this idea that we can extend that IP with her is exciting. So, we’re working once again on a screenplay to try to get that. But yes, aspiration. I’d like to do another one.”

While Enola Holmes 3 is clearly a long way off, Netflix has dropped the first poster for Damsel, the other Millie Bobby Brown film mentioned by Stuber, which you can check out below…

Directed by 28 Weeks Later‘s Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, dark-fantasy Damsel sees the Stranger Things star playing Princess Elodie, who is tricked into to marrying a handsome prince — only to discover it was all a trap. She is thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon and must rely solely on her wits and will to survive. Also featuring Angela Bassett (Black Panther), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Nick Robinson (Love, Simon), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse), Ray Winstone (Black Widow) and Brooke Carter (The Alienist).
