New Doctor Who audiobooks announced by Penguin Random House

October 29, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Penguin Random House has released details of the Doctor Who audiobooks coming in the run-up to Christmas. There are plenty of adventures coming for all fans to enjoy, with a mix of new Who and classic Who stories.

October has seen the release of two new Doctor Who audiobooks, which is great news for Fifteenth Doctor fans. These new audiobooks include:

  • Doctor Who: Firefall – Written by Beth Axford and read by Michelle Asante. When the Doctor and Belinda go to watch the legendary Leonids meteor shower of 1833, they spot an odd-looking meteor that isn’t burning up. Deciding to follow it down to the surface, the pair lands in the village of Drummondville, where their search for the fallen star begins.
  • Doctor Who: Counterstrike – Written by Una McCormack and read by Clare Corbett. This adventure finds the Fifteenth Doctor and Belinda besieged by a swarm of drones on an unknown planet. After taking refuge in a cluster of hi-tech buildings, the Doctor is puzzled by the lack of inhabitants. Meanwhile, Belinda is whisked away by a teleporter, and a person on a distant world is confused by the sudden activity on one of their colonies.

On 6th November, fans can enjoy Doctor Who: Mission to Magnus by Philip Martin, read by Nicola Bryant (who played Peri in Doctor Who). When the TARDIS is pulled off course and hurtles through time and space, Peri is shocked to find the Doctor has become an absolute coward. Besides some extreme bully issues, the Doctor also has to contend with the scheming of old enemies on the planet Magnus.

Arriving on 13th November is Doctor Who: The Moon Cruise by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson and read by Caoilfhionn Dunne. This Fifteenth Doctor adventure takes the Doctor and Belinda to a luxury space liner owned by the interstellar shipping magnate Marilyn Moon. It’s not long before the Doctor questions the sinister mannequins and the whereabouts of off-duty staff.

Finally, on 4th December, fans of classic Doctor Who can buy Doctor Who: The Vampire Plants & Other Stories, a collection of great stories based on vintage comic strips from the Doctor Who Annuals. This quartet of tales includes stories for the Second, Third and Fourth Doctors, read by Jon Culshaw, Katy Manning (Jo Grant in classic Who), and Matthew Waterhouse (Adric in classic Who).

Look out for these new audiobooks coming soon.
