Nickelodeon to air new Are You Afraid of the Dark? miniseries to coincide with movie

February 21, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Nickelodeon’s classic anthology horror series Are You Afraid of the Dark? is set for a return this year thanks to Paramount Pictures with the release of a live-action feature adaptation, and it seems we’ll also be getting a brand new miniseries to lead into the film.

As reported by SlashFilm, the miniseries will follow new members of the Midnight Society as they gather around a campfire in the woods to share scary stories. Further details are being kept under wraps, but it is expected that both the series and the film will feature the same cast members.

D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, xXx: Return of Xander Cage) is set to direct the Are You Afraid of the Dark? movie from a script by Gary Dauberman (Annabelle, It). Both the film and miniseries are set for release in October.
