Odette Annable to play Supergirl season 3 villain Reign

June 1, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Pure Genius star Odette Annable has signed on to play the main villain Reign in the third season of The CW’s DC superhero show Supergirl.

“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Odette for years,” said showrunner Andrew Kreisberg. “We are beyond excited to have her join our cast in the scary, powerful and heartbreaking role of Reign.”

According to The Wrap, the third season will apparently take inspiration from the World Killer storyline from DC Comics, which introduced the character of Reign, a biological weapon or “Worldkiller” created by Kara’s father Zor-El. The character’s introduction was teased in the closing moments of the Supergirl season two finale.
