Planet Coaster: Console Edition launches on Xbox Family and Playstation 4

November 10, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Frontier Developments has today announced the launch of Planet Coaster: Console Edition on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 4.   With Planet Coaster: Console Edition console gamers can create and manage their very own rollercoaster theme parks and share them with friends and content creators around the world.  The Console Edition will bring all the depth, customisation and freedom that can be found in the PC game.  Check out the new launch trailer below…

In Planet Coaster: Console Edition  construct your very own theme park from the ground up. Use your imaginations and run wild with the designs of roller coasters and more and construct these piece by piece to create something that will fulfil the excitement of park-goers.  Construct jaw dropping, white knuckle rides that challenge the laws of physics as well as the ability of ride-goers and thrill seekers to keep the contents of their stomach in place.

Players will also be able to build gift shops, snack bars, restaurants and drinks stands and watch the money fill up the park’s coffers. If that wasn’t enough for the theme-park tycoons among you, the park will require a team of dedicated and trained staff and players will be able to decide who to hire to ensure the park delivers the ultimate thrill experience for visitors.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition features a new radial menu that makes the best use out of the controller and ensures the the most frequently used shortcuts are in easy reach.  There’s also a brand-new Frontier Workshop which is a new sharing platform built from the ground up specifically for console gamers.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 4.  A Playstation 5 edition will be available in North America, Australia on 12th November and in UK and Europe on 19th November.

As a bonus, players can take advantage of the pre-order incentive which has been extended until 24th November providing the opportunity to gain the fantastically whimsical coaster, Oswald’s Magnificent Machine.

The Console Edition will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
