Ridley Scott has already has a script for another Alien movie, and plans for SIX more

March 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in September 2015, Ridley Scott revealed that he had plans for three Prometheus sequels, leading up to his original 1979 sci-fi classic Alien.

The first of those – now titled Alien: Covenant – is just a few short months away from release, and Scott has told The Sydney Morning Herald that he already has a script for the next Alien movie, and is planning on a 2018 shoot.

“You’ve got to assume to a certain extent success and from that you’d better be ready.“You don’t want a two-year gap. So I’ll be ready to go again next year.”

Meanwhile, Scott also went on to add that he has plenty of plans for the series going forward, stating: “If you really want a franchise, I can keep cranking it for another six. I’m not going to close it down again. No way.”

That probably spells bad news for any hopes of a revival for Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 then…

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant is set for release on May 19th and is penned by Michael Green, Jack Paglen and John Logan. Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace return alongside new cast additions Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Demian Bichir (A Better Life), Billy Crudup (Watchmen), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color), Benjamin Rigby (That’s Not Me), Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills) and James Franco (Why Him?).
