Samuel L. Jackson says Nick Fury isn’t in the Black Widow movie (yet)

July 7, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having featured prominently in this year’s Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as making a cameo appearance in Avengers: Endgame, it seems that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will be sitting out the next MCU adventure, the Scarlett Johansson-headlined Black Widow movie.

“It’s Natasha who was always been my favourite because I recruited her,” said Jackson when asked about his favourite Avenger during a recent Spider-Man: Far From Home promotional interview (via Comics Explained). “So far, I’m not in her origin story movie [Laughs]. She’s the person I was closest to in that group.”

Black Widow is reportedly set just after the events of Captain America: Civil War, but its thought the movie will also feature flashbacks exploring the origin of Natasha and her defection to S.H.I.E.L.D.; however, these comments from Jackson would seem to suggest the latter may not be the case after all…
