SDCC: Vulture confirmed for Spider-Man: Homecoming, footage description

July 24, 2016 by Justin Cook

Never-before-seen footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming was screened to the crowd attending the Marvel Studios San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H, and, as has been assumed for weeks, it reportedly confirms that The Vulture will indeed be one of the film’s villains.

Comicbook.com writer Lucas Siegel provided a description of the footage…

Bad Reputation plays, and shots of high school. “Every Story” then shots of Tony, Rhodey, each character in high school. “Every journey. Has a beginning.” Peter is walking through school, and a homecoming banner goes up. 9:30am Science. Peter’s looking at footage of himself taking Giant Man down. Flash Thompson is an indian character. The Disney channel star Zendaya may be playing Liz Allan! In Chemistry, Parker works on his web fluid on the side. A girl is playing F, M, K with Avengers. Liz thinks Spidey is hot. One of his other friends is trying to figure out what he’s hiding. Jump cuts of him running down a hallway zipping a hoodie over the costume, and climbing up a wall, and finally, he and the “Ganke type” doing a handshake. Then VULTURE comes down a tube, with crazy armor.

Spider-Man: Homecoming sees Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei reprising their roles from Captain America: Civil War as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Aunt May, alongside Marvel veteran Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. New additions to the cast include Michael Keaton (Birdman), Michael Barbieri (Little Men), Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Donald Glover (Community), Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), Kenneth Choi (Captain America: The First Avenger), Hannibal Buress (Broad City), Isabella Amara (The Boss), Jorge Lendeborg, Jr. (Graceland), JJ Totah (Glee), Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), Bokeem Woodbine (Riddick), Tyne Daly (Cagney & Lacey), Garcelle Beauvais (Hollywood Today Live) and Tiffany Espensen (Kirby Buckets). The film is set for release on July 7th, 2017.
