Sker Ritual trailer reveals Wales Interactive’s Maid of Sker follow-up

May 11, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Fans of the award-winning British horror Maid of Sker will be happy to see a brand new trailer and more details for Wales Interactive’s upcoming co-op survival FPS Sker Ritual, coming to PC this summer. This spiritual successor will see the Quiet Ones return, steampunk weapons, mysterious story objectives, unique supernatural powers and more.  The new trailer (see below) features the teleporting Banshee, the lethal Mariner, the invisible Phantom and the Maid of Sker fan favourite boss Abraham.

Sker Ritual sees the return of the Quiet Ones and this time they are not alone as they have recruited new elites.  These elites come with their own unique set of abilities that will force players to change their play-style, change their location or even enlist the help of teammates.  If the return of old enemies wasn’t bad enough, Sker Island sees the arrival of many new enemies that share the same aim of killing the player.

The only way to ensure these enemies learn a hard lesson is by equipping the character with a variety of upgradeable steampunk weapons.  Guns, ammo and equipment can be obtained at the Laughing Policeman booths scattered at various locations around the maps and it is here that weapon ranks can be increased with unique upgrades with the Super Charger.  This provides plenty of opportunities for bonus buffs and cool looking steampunk inspired enhancements.

Players will be able to customise their hero with interchangeable in-game masks that have been inspired by an assortment of horror genres, including folk, gothic, zombie, science fiction and supernatural.  Plus there are a number of taunts using unique voice lines.

Although Sker Ritual is ideal entertainment for up to 4 players, it will also be equally enjoyable for those choosing to play solo as the difficulty will be scaled to the number of players active at the time.

Look out for more news on Sker Ritual coming prior to the game’s release this summer.
