Slow Horses renewed for seventh season by Apple TV+

July 8, 2025 by Ricky Church

Ahead if its fifth season premiere in September, Apple TV+ has already given the spy series Slow Horses the greenlight for a seventh season. Apple already renewed the series for a sixth season last year, but has now doubled down on the series’ future.

Slow Horses sees Gary Oldman leading the cast which features Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jonathan Pryce. The series is based on the novels by Mick Herron and created by William James Smith.

Season 7 will be based on Herron’s Bad Actors, which sees Oldman’s Jackson Lamb and his Slow Horses on the hunt to find and neutralize a mole at the heart of British government before they can bring down the state.

“Slow Horses has won fans all over the world with its unique mix of self-deprecating British humor and high-octane action,” said Jay Hunt, creative director for Apple TV+ in Europe. “I’m delighted viewers will have another season to enjoy Gary’s magnificent performance as Jackson Lamb alongside the Slow Horses’ slightly inept spycraft.”

Season 5 of Slow Horses, which will premiere on September 24th, sees everyone suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend. When a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the London Rules – cover your back – always apply.

Slow Horses Season 5 will premiere September 24th on Apple TV+.
