SNL creates ‘South Centros’ in Game of Thrones mock episode

April 12, 2015 by Alfie Nobes

Last night SNL gave us its own take on the immensely popular HBO series, Game of Thrones.  The spoof depicts an eighth kingdom called South Centros, inspired by the 1991 John Singleton film, Boyz ‘n the Hood.

During the mock episode we find out that South Centros is at war with the Lannisters and that Ice Cube (Kenan Thompson) is “breeding dire wolves out the back”. The one and only Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) also makes a surprising cameo as he causes trouble in the kingdom of South Centros.

The John Singleton directed episode includes a lot of our favourite Game of Thrones’ moments, such as the dramatic intro and a variety of untimely deaths. However the spoof doesn’t fail to poke fun at the original series when Michael Che’s character answers the big question, “when will it end” with “I don’t know son, It’s a long story. Some say too long. if it was a book, it’d be seven long-ass books”.

The first episode of the brand new Game of thrones series is airing tonight at 9.00pm.
