Stephen Amell wasn’t happy with big Green Arrow scene in Crisis on Infinite Earths

January 27, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Crisis on Infinite Earths spoilers follow…

While The CW’s big Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover was packed with cameos, shock and surprises, one of the biggest came in the very first episode as Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen made the ultimate sacrifice in order to ensure his friends escaped the doomed Earth-38.

Mortally wounded, Oliver was transported back to Earth-1 by the Monitor to say a last goodbye to his fellow heroes – a scene that Amell found very frustrating to shoot due to the hectic Arrowverse schedule.

“They were trying to wrap Caity Lotz and Grant Gustin before I shot the coverage of the scene where I died,” Amell told Inside of You. “I blame no one for this, but this is a scene with me from Arrow that’s taking place on Supergirl, with a Supergirl crew, with demands on both Grant and Caity. And they’re trying to pull them so that Flash and Legends don’t mess up their day the next day. Meanwhile, the fucking Green Arrow was laying on a gurney trying to deliver his lines to something other than a fucking tennis ball. So, there are lots of scenes where I’m acting and there just aren’t other actors there, and that is just not an acceptable way of creating the best product, from my perspective.”

SEE ALSO: The Flash’s Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo was a request from Warner Bros.

Team Arrow will be saying farewell to Oliver Queen this week with the series finale ‘Fadeout’, which is set to bring the curtain down on the original Arrowverse show after eight years. You can watch a promo for the episode here.
