Syfy places pilot order for Superman prequel series Krypton

April 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Way back in December of 2014 it was announced that Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice writer David S. Goyer was developing a Superman prequel series entitled Krypton, and now it has been revealed that Syfy has placed a pilot order for the project.

Krypton “is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.”

SEE ALSO: TV show Krypton will be a prequel to Man of Steel and the DC Extended Universe

Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) has signed on as showrunner, and is currently rewriting the script for the pilot with Goyer. Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) will direct.

Are you excited about the possibility of exploring the world of Krypton? Let us know in the comments below…
