Terry Crews has a new Marvel hero on his hit list to play

January 30, 2015 by admin

If there was one person who seemed purposefully built to play Luke Cage, it’s Terry Crews. So much so, that the actor had petitioned for himself to play the role on numerous occasions. But sadly for the Brooklyn Nine Nine star, the role has gone to Mike Colter for A.K.A Jessica Jones before he gets his own show.

Not to be down on the Marvel spirit, Crews told a Reddit AMA who he would like to play now.

“It’s hard to pick a favourite superhero,” he said. “I always did love Luke Cage, and I’m really, really happy about who they cast in the Netflix version of Luke Cage. So that’s something that’s already done. But you know who else I’d like to play? The Silver Surfer. I always LOVED [him]. I thought I had the build, the body, I could get on that surfboard, and if they ever do a live-action version of Silver Surfer, I think that would be perfect for me.”

Based on the past part of that quote, it seems as though Crews has forgotten that they did do a live action version of Silver Surfer in the much-maligned 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer where he was voiced by Laurence Fishburne.
