The Conjuring Universe sets third Annabelle film for July 2019

April 28, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

THR is reporting that Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation screenwriter Gary Dauberman is set to make his directorial debut with an as-yet-untitled Annabelle threequel, which New Line Cinema has set for a July 2019 release date.

In addition to directing, Dauberman is once again writing the script for the film, which will be the sixth instalment in The Conjuring Universe after this year’s spinoff The Nun (also scripted by Dauberman).

Launching in 2013 with James Wan’s The Conjuring, the franchise has grossed over $1.2 billion across its four instalments to date, from a combined budget of just $81.5 million.

Annabelle 3 is being fast tracked for release on July 3rd 2019. Meanwhile, The Nun will open on September 7th 2018, and a third spinoff The Crooked Man is also in development.
